DaFelt writes July 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "Spacious, clean, friendly and close to it all yet away from it all! For once I didn't feel like I was in an RV parking lot! Even though I was right above the office area and off 89A - it felt secluded & quiet enough. They did a great job putting in vegetation (if you weren't nestled in the grand rockscapes) to give a bit of privacy between campsites. Only a 5 minute walk to Watson lake, kayak rentals right on site and the bathrooms were the nicest I've seen! Great location just 7 minutes to downtown Prescott, 4 minutes to the airport and Embry Riddle University and of course Wilson and Watson lake are w/in walking distance. The office folks were super friendly, laundry area was clean and nice, books/movies to check out, a few store items if you forgot anything (including ice) and place was very well maintained.
Singingdove writes July 2019 - 4/5 Stars; "I've never stayed at a campground with such unique surroundings. This is a quiet campground (at least when we stayed here). There is a short hike from the upper loop that you can take that lets you climb up on all these rocks and gives quite a view of the surrounding area. You can even see the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff - about 83 miles away. Spot number 9 was perfect - secluded with no one on the one side of us and even had a few trees that offered some shade."
Lardis writes July 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "Our 2nd time here and its a great park with great people who do everything to get you in, even when you arrive a day early on a holiday week. Perfect spot for our 40 footer! Should be an amazing holiday with fireworks from the lake."
Stevehurwitz writes June 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "Full hookups, shady spots, easy parking, super easy access to one of the most beautiful lakes I've ever seen - Watson lake. Best bouldering and hiking around, great kayaking. We've visited this park 2 times now in the past month! The staff are fantastic and willing to move things around to ensure you get the site you ideally want. Clean bathrooms with showers. Doggy stations with bags. RSVP early because they fill up quickly and often!"
Customer writes September 15, 2019 - 5/5 Stars;"This place is like the best kept secret of Prescott! Very clean and the views are amazing. We felt like there was just enough space in between spaces as well. Not too tight! A short walk will take you to a beautiful lake. No swimming, but highly reccomend a kayak. We will definitely be back! "
Customer writes August 30, 2019 - 5/5 Stars;"Found Point of Rocks via RV Parky app and decided to book it based off the reviews. I called the week prior to arrival for confirmation, but somehow my reservation didn't go through. No problem! The lady I spoke with was more than helpful and I was able to book a premium end site (56C) for $140 for 3 days. The site was large, shaded, level and very quiet with excellent views of the rocks and a walking path right down to Watson Lake. We stayed at the end of April and it was breezy and still chilly at night, but we had no next door neighbor at all during our stay. Fabulous hiking and birding and close to many attractions. Highly recommended!"
Customer writes July 14, 2019 - 5/5 Stars;"This RV park is awesome... Right next to Watson Lake...hiking, kayaking, pet friendly. Shaded most of the sites. Bathrooms & showers well maintained daily. Very nice camp office and friendly staff. Handicap bathrooms and shower at main office building. Laundry available. Have been here several times over the last 10 years and they continue to keep in good condition and upgrading. Wifi and availability for many different size travelers and motor coaches. Great place to stay when visiting the Prescott area."
Suellen M. Dicker writes on September 27, 2019 - 5/5 Stars; For persons who have physical limitations and/disabilities who would like to RV/Vintage Travel Trailer camp THIS CAMPGROUND ROCKS! The main bathroom by the office is wheelchair/zero entry shower accessible. The bathroom in the upper park will be renovated next year. All Bathrooms are exceptionally clean! The Staff/Owners are very friendly and accommodating ... They greet you, by name, with enthusiasm... And smile and wave as they drive through the park. While the kayaking and hiking trails are not handicap accessible in this campground (they are available for persons without limitations) due to the natural Dells terrain, they are more accessible right next door to the campground. The campsites are partially shaded and well kept. The road from the campsites to the bathrooms are easily accessible with a motorized scooter and/or wheelchair. The other campers we met were very friendly. This campground is pet friendly. They even provide poop bags for your dogs if you happen to run out accessible at various stations in the campground. While we were camping we saw many dogs and also a cat on a leash... All owners were conscientious and respectful of other campers. This is a privately owned campground yet their prices are comparable to the other privately owned campground... The difference was the bathrooms were exceptional."
Jim Hart writes on September 21, 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "Great campground. Wooded and close against the dells. Easy access to the Watson Lake trails and kayak launch. Some spots (maybe all?) Have full hookups. Wifi. Clean restrooms and showers."
Zoe Ravert writes on September 14, 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "This is the nicest campgrounds in Prescott. We've stayed here many times even in the snow. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Large quiet spaces."
John Alfonso writes August 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "Clean and pet friendly. Park staff are friendly and helpful. Your stay will be better with a reservation (won't have to move), but will try to get you in. We have been here 5 weeks waiting for our house, and have met many return visitors. Office and laundry has w/c ramp, showers have level entry, but showers a bit small for chair, grounds are mostly level gravel roads with a few steep hills.
I will recommend this place."
Katie Klas writes August 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "Our Second trip and really enjoyed the peaceful, quiet campground and access to Watson Lake. Walked from our campsite to Watson Lake and did 7.15 miles through the Dells and into Peavine to Discovery back to camp. So worth it! So close to Prescott Courthouse Square. Went in for dinner at Farmer Provisions and it was exceptional. Went in for the arts fair in the Square too, very enjoyable. We will be back."
Mel M. writes July 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "This is one of the best RV parks! Clean and well run! Staff is so hospitable."
Admiral writes September 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "This is a pretty rv park nestled in some beautiful rock formations. Our site was large, level and hook ups were good. It was easy to get into and satellite reception was good. There are nice walking trails from the park. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome."
JVMRMM writes August, 2019 - 4/5 Stars; "This was our third visit to this campground over the last 10 years - we really like it, especially how quiet it is. The sites are all different sizes so make sure they know the size of your rig to accommodate you. Staff is very friendly. They could use a new layer of gravel on their roads - they were very dusty compared to what we remember from 5 years ago. Lots of trees and privacy, close to Prescott Valley and downtown Prescott. The Dells rock formations are beautiful. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Motorhome."
Elyse writes on June, 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "The rock formations throughout make this the most unique park we have ever stayed in. The spaces are roomy and private, with trees/shrubs in between them. The site was level and the hookups convenient, with a picnic table. There is a nice hiking trail down to Watson Lake. Though you can hear traffic noise off in the distance, our site was peaceful. Like that there aren't a lot of lights in the park to dim the night sky. We will definitely stay here again when passing through Prescott. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel."
O_CBarber writes on May, 2019 - 4.5/5 Stars; "We really really liked this campground. The sites are wide and the trees give a nice sense of privacy. Staff are very friendly and check-in was fast and easy. We didn't have any issues with the hook-ups and the wifi worked great. We didn't really have any issues with dust either. We are looking forward to returning to this campground. We camped at Point of Rocks RV Campground in a Travel Trailer."
Scott W writes on September 18, 2019 - 5/5 start; "My wife & I took a few days and headed up to Prescott to escape the heat and play at Watson Lake. We made our reservation several months 'til the kiddies were back in school. We arrived on 09-15-2019 and stayed for three nights. Got an e-mail confirmation the moment we reserved our spot and Point of Rocks even accommodated our request to be closer to the restrooms (our Little Guy TAG doesn't have a bathroom). We arrived at check-in on Sunday and checked in at the office out front. They knew exactly who we were and everything was straight-forward. They're very well organized unlike some local campgrounds. There wasn't any of the "Now, who are you guys? What day are you supposed to be here? When was this reservation made? What was your favorite band in the 6th grade?" and on and on and on and on and on... Everything was flawless with check-in and they told us precisely how to get to our spot.
The site numbers are painted in white on large rocks next to the corresponding site. Again, very well organized and laid out exceptionally well. It is obvious from the moment we checked in that they care about their guests and genuinely want you to have an awesome time! So after we got set-up at our site, I noticed how spacious each site is at their campground! We have a little teardrop camper, but there was plenty of room for the camper, parking for our full-size truck AND we still had room for our 10' screen tent! Our site area was clean AND there was plenty of vegetation / trees surrounding each site that backs up to the rocks which afforded additional privacy to each camper. There was a fairly large rig next to ours and the adjacent vegetation allowed us plenty of privacy. I'm not a fan of watching my neighbor grill up his evening hot dogs while I'm reading a book. Like I said, the sites are very spacious, clean and some of the best we've had the pleasure of camping at!
Our site was a stones throw away from the restrooms as I mentioned previously per our request which they accommodated for us, BUT even if you were at one of the campsites a little further away - it would not have been a very long walk at all. Their campground accommodates all of the very large big rigs and I suspect most of my neighbors used the bathrooms inside of their rigs (the sites have FULL hook-ups!) We were in the campground for 3 nights / 4 days and I think I bumped into ONE other person in the men's room at any given point in time. Speaking of which, the restrooms are very simple, but very clean. One of the reviewers on Yelp made it a point to say the restrooms need updating. Perhaps that's the case, but you're not residing at their campground. Their toilet areas, shower areas and vanity areas are very clean and well cared for. I'm not about to nit-pick the fact that their shower hardware could use some updating.
All in all, my wife & I had a phenomenal time at Point of Rocks Campground. There's a little trail from their campground that meanders down to Watson Lake so we did quite a bit of hiking, kayaking, rest and relaxing over the course of the last 4 days. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at their campground and cannot wait to come back and see them again! Thanks again to everyone at Point of Rocks for making our stay pleasant and memorable!"
Nell F writes November 2018 - 5/5 Stars; "This was a beautiful place to stay in Prescott, AZ. We lived to walk the trail to Lake Watson and see the beautiful lake. Caught a few trout and a couple of bass in the lake. The park has all utilities and good wifi. Very friendly and clean park. We will sure be back for a visit again."
SirCharles writes June 9, 2019 - 5/5 Stars; "Trust the other reviews! Level sites, very strong internet. Clean, helpful, convenient to town and lakes. Goos stay!
Polanna writes on April 22, 2019 - 4/5 Stars; "This is the nicest campgrounds in Prescott. We've stayed here many times even in the snow. Friendly staff and clean facilities. Large quiet spaces. The first thing we found out was that this park is no longer a member of Good Sam GSC. When we tried to hook up power we had several problems so they moved us to another site. There's a nice trail to a view site and a trail to Williams Lake. The park is close to Prescott and there are a lot of things to do both in and around Prescott. There are lots of trees, good shade, and decent-sized sites."
The Wally Llama writes on April 22, 2018 - 5/5 Stars; "Took advice of 2nd loop spot and found it to be quite nice and very quiet. Not paved so that needs to be considered but ambience more than offsets the occasional dust created by a vehicle. Has feel of old county park. Actually pretty special."
