Every weekend, plus Columbus Day,
throughout the month of October,
pumpkins rule at Mortimer Farms
Pumpkin Festival in Dewey. All things
farm-fun each day from noon to 9pm
on Fridays, Saturdays 9am to 9pm, and
Sundays and Columbus Day 9am to
For the youngest kids, visit the hands-on Farm Animal Kingdom, get in the
saddle at Buckaroo Pony Corner, wind through the Straw Maze and hitch a
ride in the Barrel Train.
Older kids can take the challenge of Roping Dummies and the Obstacle
Course, hang-on for the Slack Lining, test balance and agility in the Mutton
Bustin’ corral and wander through the 25 acre Corn Maze. This year’s Corn
Maze depicts Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton dancing hand in hand!
In addition to all those October options, live entertainment, farm food, tractor
pulls, pig races, a stilt show, craft vendors and Saturday night barn dances
offer fun for the whole family at the Mortimer Farms Pumpkin Festival.
And no Pumpkin Festival can hold its pumpkin-head high without a Pumpkin
Chunkin’ contest. On October 29 at 11am and 1pm, the most creative
engineering minds in the area gather to test their skills. Each team designs
and builds a non-combustible method of throwing a six pound pumpkin at a
target. Teams are rated on distance, accuracy and most original design. Will
anyone beat Bagdad High School’s long distance record of 788 feet set last
year? Come and find out!
General admission to Mortimer Farms 2016 Pumpkin Festival is $15 per
